Under the
direction of James Racioppi, The Paper Moon Puppet Theatre, creates an
enchanted world for children of all ages. The
marionettes are designed and crafted individually for each production.
Carefully researched costumes, elaborate scenery, lighting effects and music
combine to create a complete theatrical experience in miniature which is, for
many children, their first experience of live theatre. Older audiences have
often expressed an appreciation, through our post-show educational segment, for the behind the scenes experience of
classic marionette theater. And we at Paper Moon Puppet Theatre are
proud to be a part of presenting this ancient and eloquent form of theatre to
new audiences. The hour long performance is structured to capture
and hold the attention of even very young children. Before each performance
the puppeteers engage the children in audience participation and interaction
with the marionettes, and after the show the audience is introduced to the
characters from the show and invited to ask questions. This
first hand look at what goes on behind the scenes, can add much
enjoyment to and appreciation of the art of the marionette theatre. |
