Crimes of the Heart

Winner of 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. The scene takes place in Hazelhurst Mississippi, where the three McGrath sisters have gathered to await news of their grandfather who is living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny, the oldest is unmarried at thirty with small marital prospects, Meg, the middle sister who outgrew Hazelhurst, is back after a failed singing career, while Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband. In the end the play is the story of how it’s young characters escape the past to seize the future.

Take this jughandle and cross the highway...we are 3 1/2 blocks down on left hand side (burgundy awning with First Avenue Playhouse on it as illustrated above).
From locations south of Sandy Hook, along ocean
Take Route 36 north (Ocean Avenue) and pass Sandy Hook by about 4 miles to First Avenue (Shell Gas Station) turn right...we are 3 1/2 blocks down on left hand side
From Locations West of Parkway
Take Route 79 or 516 to Route 35 in Matawan, turn right onto 35 and take first left onto Route 36. Follow directions from All Points on the Parkway above
